My advice is to look for banks that have only a local presence, not a national bank with a local branch, because these folks will be willing to offer you high rates just to capture your business. Another word of warning, analyze the deal in its entirety, not just the promotional offer, because it might drop back to a low 1.0% after a few months. No sense putting your money in an account at 6% for only three months.
