Rentometer: Are You Overpaying On Rent?

Everyone has to live somewhere right? Well, the key, when it comes to money hacks, is paying as little as you can to get as much value as you can and the Rentometer will help you do that. By inputting your address and your rent, you can get a good sense of how much you’re paying compared to your neighbors. It’s not 100% precise but it will give you a good gauge as to where you are in the spectrum.

So I put in my mortgage plus the statistics of my home and it said:

Your rent of $1,700/month for a 4 bed unit at [address] is lower than the average rent in your area. Your unit seems to be a good deal!

The range went from $1412 to $3322, with the median range at around $2,300. Now, if you find yourself in the higher end or the lower end, they add a few more statements about how your place should be better or worse than average - which makes sense. You can’t compare everything strictly on room size and Zip Code but you should get a general idea.
